MAUI SWAP MEET - Who is ready for some shopping?
The Maui Swap Meet in Kahului, Maui is held every Saturday from 7am - 1pm at the Maui Community College. For just 50 cents, you’ll get access to many vendors selling local made products and fresh produce
Its a great place to stock up on fresh fruits and vegetables to take back to the condo at Honua Kai for your stay. You also won’t be able to resist the fresh cut tropical flowers. This is also a fantastic place to shop for souvenirs, since they have many of the same items you’ll find at the boutique shops in Ka’anapali and Lahaina, but the prices are MUCH better. You’ll find t-shirts, jewelry, koa wood and other handmade crafts. These are just a few photos of the items I found at the swap meet last time.
Since the trek to Kahului can be a bit long from your condo at Honua Kai, you may also want to check out the craft fair held on Sundays in Lahaina (this will be just a 10 minute drive from Honua Kai instead of nearly an hour). These local handmade Maui products are great for holiday gifts or to bring home to your friends and family that didn’t get to come on your Maui vacation.
